James Douglas was called to the Bar in September 2020.
Prior to joining the Bar, James had around 15 years of experience as a solicitor in Sydney and London. James’ principal areas of practice as a solicitor included corporate, banking & financial services and commercial law in contentious and non-contentious matters.
Most recently, James was a Senior Legal Counsel at the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) advising financial advice licensees on ASIC breach reporting obligations and managing various CBA remediation projects arising out of the Banking Royal Commission.
Since joining the Bar, James has had a broad commercial practice with a particular focus on contracts, insolvency, equity and wills & estates.
James holds master’s degrees in law (University of Sydney) and business (UNSW).
