Michael Morgan

Overview

Michael completed his law degree at Western Sydney University and was called to the Bar in 2022. He currently practices in a broad range of civil matters.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Michael worked in the Finance and University sectors handling matters such as security remediation and funding of university research.

In addition to his practice at the Bar, Michael acts as a seasonal academic at Western Sydney University. Currently, he is teaching migration subjects in the Graduate Diploma of Australian Migration Law program in addition to Contracts and Civil Procedure in the LLB program. Further, Michael is a regular contributor to the NSW Law Society Journal and publishes case notes on recent decisions in both the NSW and Commonwealth jurisdictions. He is also a co-author on the 9th edition of Douglas and Jones’s Administrative Law.

Further, Michael is a current member of the Health and Medical Research Ethics Committee at the University of Technology Sydney and has previously served as a member of the NSW Bar Association New Barristers’ committee.

Additionally, Michael volunteers as a moot judge for university mooting competitions such as the UNSW Law Society Intermediate Mooting Competition and the WSU Kirby Cup.

Michael accepts briefs to appear in all jurisdictions, although his practice is primarily based in Sydney.

Outside the Law, Michael enjoys activities such as hiking and travelling.
