Caroline Needham SC

 

Caroline Needham SCCaroline Needham SC LL.B, B.C.L. was admitted in 1984 and has been Senior Counsel since 1999. She holds first class honours degrees from Sydney University and Oxford in law and postgraduate law. Her practice areas include commercial law, equity, insurance, construction and technology and she has considerable experience in Commissions, Inquests and Inquiries including military. Caroline has successfully appeared in a number of significant cases including: SMEC Testing Services Pty Ltd v Campbelltown City Council [2000] NSWCA 323, Triden Properties Ltd v Capita Financial Group Ltd [1993] 30 NSWLR 403 and Green v CGU Insurance Limited [2008] NSWSC 825.

Caroline is an accredited mediator for LEADR and the Australian Defence Force.

Prior experience includes lecturer in equity and real property at Sydney University, Associate Professor of Law at UBC in Vancouver and Head of Legal Services Division of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal of NSW.  Caroline has published a number of legal articles internationally on restitution and regularly presents seminars and papers to legal practitioners.
